So far, lol.

We went for a THIRD scan and she is only 12 weeks, we sneak them in where we can because insurance covers pre-natal care 100%. So, we were out of town and got in to see a doctor who scanned and asked if we wanted to know the sex, hell yeah we wanna know! A friend with us used to do this as a job and she got a smile on her face while looking at the ultrasound, so we asked her opinion first and she said Boy, the Doctor said he agreed, and our boy isn’t shy! He was squirming around like he’d just had a triple expresso. The Doc asked if she had been drinking caffeine, she hasn’t but we had just eaten spicy food

We are beyond excited and the baby boy clothes are being gifted to us already. We both wanted a boy. I keep looking at all the cute and funny little onesie’s and t-shirts and i cannot wait to get this boy in them!

The morning sickness isn’t as often for her now but still there, she gets a rest every few days for maybe a day but then it’s back with vengeance the next day! She’s a trooper though and see’s it as a sign that things are going okay. I am nervous all the time. When she calls me from work sounding miserable i always assume the worse. I just want to get out of the first trimester, not long to go. I know being in the second isn’t a guarantee but i think my anxiety will be alleviated somewhat.

We still plan to sell our house or at least try. Once we can do that we can look into relocating. I am going to be the stay at home mom and i am so looking forward to it, hopefully in a different house in a new state!

My fears about a boy with two mom’s are still there and i guess until he’s old enough to tell us, i will always be worried that he may resent not having a father. However, he’s better off in this situation with not having one anyway and when he’s old enough to understand we will explain where he came from.

SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!

So, new to blogging, never really felt the urge to spew my thoughts out into the cyber abyss. But, i’ve decided to give it a try!

5 years together and a baby on the way! I am scared, anxious, nervous, happy and excited all at once. Our lives are about to change forever. We have dogs and cats (Yeah, don’t all lesbian couples?!) but we hadn’t planned on a child for a few more years. But then life took over and we ended up here. It’s a good place to be, scary but good, great even!

The scariest part is not knowing what to expect from society. We are planning to move as soon as possible. Which is easier said than done. We have a house to sell first. We live in a small minded town where we keep to ourselves but we don’t want that for our baby. I don’t really know yet where we will go, we just want away from here. We came here for work and family but we will not raise a child here surrounding by hate and bigotry.

Well, it’s been a crazy few months, lots of planning, worrying, thinking of names, discussing our wants for this baby and telling people. She has been puking insanely. It’s mean to say but i am oddly comforted at being woken by the sound of her spewing her guts each morning. Actually, morning, noon, night, you catch the drift. I feel sorry for her, she never knows what she want’s to eat, she smells things like a bloodhound and they instantly make her lose her insides. She is tired all the time and still having to work. And there’s still at least 6 months to go! Poor baby. At least she doesn’t have to do all the housework and take care of the pets………i’m starting to wonder if a pregnant woman made up the whole not changing cat litter thing just to get out of it for 9 months, what a genius

We often sit in restaurants or walk around stores saying ‘our kid is NOT going to behave like that’ or ‘they’re not having candy and soda’ etc. We have our ideals and now we get to put them into action and hope we don’t screw this kid up.
