Expecting the unexpected!!
So, new to blogging, never really felt the urge to spew my thoughts out into the cyber abyss. But, i’ve decided to give it a try!
5 years together and a baby on the way! I am scared, anxious, nervous, happy and excited all at once. Our lives are about to change forever. We have dogs and cats (Yeah, don’t all lesbian couples?!) but we hadn’t planned on a child for a few more years. But then life took over and we ended up here. It’s a good place to be, scary but good, great even!
The scariest part is not knowing what to expect from society. We are planning to move as soon as possible. Which is easier said than done. We have a house to sell first. We live in a small minded town where we keep to ourselves but we don’t want that for our baby. I don’t really know yet where we will go, we just want away from here. We came here for work and family but we will not raise a child here surrounding by hate and bigotry.
Well, it’s been a crazy few months, lots of planning, worrying, thinking of names, discussing our wants for this baby and telling people. She has been puking insanely. It’s mean to say but i am oddly comforted at being woken by the sound of her spewing her guts each morning. Actually, morning, noon, night, you catch the drift. I feel sorry for her, she never knows what she want’s to eat, she smells things like a bloodhound and they instantly make her lose her insides. She is tired all the time and still having to work. And there’s still at least 6 months to go! Poor baby. At least she doesn’t have to do all the housework and take care of the pets………i’m starting to wonder if a pregnant woman made up the whole not changing cat litter thing just to get out of it for 9 months, what a genius
We often sit in restaurants or walk around stores saying ‘our kid is NOT going to behave like that’ or ‘they’re not having candy and soda’ etc. We have our ideals and now we get to put them into action and hope we don’t screw this kid up.
